Negative Thoughts

Be deaf to negative thoughts and rise to the top!

“It is not always possible to do away with negative thinking, but with persistence and practice, one can gain mastery over them so that they do not take the upper hand.” ― Stephen Richards

Experts estimate that we think an average of 60,000 - 80,000 thoughts per day! That is an average of 2,100 thoughts per hour. Extraordinary! They say that 98% of those thoughts are the same as the day before. Here is the weigh in, 80% of our thoughts are negative.

"As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he..." Proverbs 23:7

We are all victims of our own thoughts. Dominated by perceptions, fear, and insecurities that lead us nowhere but to self-destruct.

Story Time: A frog decided one day that he was going to climb a tree and reach the very top. All the other frogs in the pond gathered to watch him. They shouted at him saying, "It's impossible! It's Impossible!" But, the frog climbed the tree and reached the very top. How? Because he was deaf and thought that everyone was encouraging him to reach his goal.

Have you ever started something and showed your progress to someone and they not react as you had expected them too? Have you ever begun to work on an idea, completed the concept and then shut it down because you thought it wouldn't work? I have done this countless times! It leads nowhere but to unfulfillment and frustration. There are so many unfulfilled people in the world because they are dominated by their negative thoughts.

Negative thoughts are a prison for vision. It incarcerates the imagination and forces it to focus on the illusion of failure and incompetency. You find yourself unable to move past the paralyzing thoughts as they replay in your mind like a scratched CD. Your goals seem so far out of reach and life just keeps happening.

I wanted to take the time to tell you that you can overcome these imaginations by the blood of the lamb and the word of your testimony (Rev. 12:11). Your words are so much more powerful than your thoughts! Contrary to popular belief, the Word of God says that we "overcome" by the "word of our testimony". That means that your mind has no choice but to listen and adjust to the spoken word. It doesn't matter how deep in your thoughts you may be at any given moment, once a word is spoken, it interrupts the thought process and demands attention.

Cast down the those negative thoughts!

Speak to your mind and tell it what to think! Condition your thoughts with the Word of God. Testify of your winning, overcoming, becoming and forthcoming. What you speak you will reap. You are attacked in your mind because that is the greatest battlefield for the enemy to run rampage and cause you to sin. But Paul declared in 2 Cor. 10 that our weapons are not carnal but MIGHTY. Would you pull out your mighty weapon and because to declare with me that "every imagination that exalts itself above the knowledge of God is POWERLESS IN MY MIND." WOOO... I felt that one, did you?

Listen to me carefully! Your powerful weapon is not your wit or your charm, it is the knowledge of the Word of God. The thoughts in your mind, the experiences of failure or the bad breakup that has you feeling inadequate can't stop you from overcoming. Cast down that imagination! Cast down that illusion! Cast down that lie! Cast down that fear! In the Name of Jesus Christ!

Don't allow anything or anyone to intimidate you into thinking that you won't break free! God told Jeremiah not to "be afraid of men and their faces". God is with you and he is for you! He told Ezekiel not to be "afraid of men and their words". It is time for you to eat of "every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God."

If God ain't say it, I AM DEAF TO IT! Climb that tree and reach your goal by shutting down every negative thought with the triumphant Word of God!

Oh yea baby, Let's reach the top!
